Why is a diet high in vegetables and low in fats recommended for diabetics?

I just heard a commercial on the radio and it recommended eating more vegetables and less meat, or leaner meat. I understand that vegetables are important, however why would you want diabetics to eat more carbs? It seems backwards! Plus fats are a good source of energy without any carbs. The only reason I can think of they would recommend this is because most diabetics are also overweight and they are trying to get people to lose weight instead of lower their blood sugar. But why don’t they recommend low carb, high protein diets for diabetics?

Why is Stanford University 4th place for top ten best universities/colleges? Why can’t it be 1st place?

When God told Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply the human race?

wasn’t that just for that historical period? Why do people think that this applies in the 21st century and that birth control is wrong? If all knowledge is from God, I am sure there is nothing wrong with birth control when planning a family. The life we live is different from biblical times (needing sons to be heirs to property, working the land or family business). I know children are a blessing from God but what is wrong with planning how many children you will have?

When you make quiche do you bake the dough first?

When I make quiche, I always end up with mushy dough at the bottom but it’s crispy on the top. Is there a way to avoid this? Should I be baking the dough first before adding the egg/cream etc. mix and if so, how do you avoid the top bit getting burned when you put it in the oven again with the ingredients in?

why do commercial airlines have different number of engines?

why does an A380 have 4 engines but carrys nearly twice as much as a 747 which also has 4 engines? why does an A340 have 4 engines but a777 has 2 engines but has a longer range and the difference in payload is not very much? the 707,727 and the 737 have more or less the same range and payload but they have 4,3 and 2 engines respectively. why does the 787 have 2 engines and is faster and uses less fuel? who knows about the A350 or the 747-8?
