Why is it important to know that what makes you happy will eventually make you sad?

it’s a philosophy statement and i was wondering why i should care about it or why it’s important to know. some examples of the statement are like…You find someone that you love which makes you happy, but then you breakup and that makes you sad. why is this philosophy statement important to know in life?

First, look at it from an epistemological point of view. It is not valid. Nothing in the statement "things make you happy" leads to the conclusion that "the same things will absolutely make you sad."
"A deductive argument is said to be valid if and only if it takes a form that makes it impossible for the premises to be true and the conclusion nevertheless to be false. Otherwise, a deductive argument is said to be invalid."

In plain English, you can’t make two true statements come to a false conclusion, or it is invalid. There is no proof in the second premiss that it is true, let alone that the conclusion is true.

If you always know something that makes you happy will make you sad then does it truly ever make you happy. Best is to be happy when you can be happy and not look to a future of pain.

Its a sad truth but joy tends to hold you to the fear that it will eventually depart.

Is it important to know and remember that? No, only depressing.

Few embark upon a path with the intention of failing or defeat. A bond of love should be entered to not of desperation or impulsiveness but well considered rational and reason of the likelihood of fruition and prospering of the liaison.

The enterprises and initiatives of man have an increased chance of success with an application of logical thought and planning. Awareness of the weaknesses and strengths and flaws of the individual concerned. Family background, common agendas’ and goals will further enhance the probability of triumph.

    Peace and Love.

I believe it means to live in the moment. Things will eventually turn out for the worse, storms will eventually come, bad things will happen, sometimes love is pain. That’s why when you have even a glimmer of happiness, you should fight like hell to keep it.

It might be to moderate feeling, or to make us strong, realizing that commitments we make have to be for better or worse because nothing is just the better, and the more we care about something, the harder worse will be. So we have to be strong and prepared for the long haul.

Since happiness and love, lonliness and sadness are all made in your own mind, then you are the only one who can "make" your own happiness or sadness.
Nothing can "make" us happy, sad, angry, lovely, bored, except for our own reactions to each situation we encounter, then we alone are responsible for what we feel.
If you find something that helps you be happy, then that something leaves your life, it is up to you how you deal with that situation.

It only makes you sad when it changes. Shakyamuni said that attachment creates suffering.
