If I want to start playing world of warcraft should i buy the expansion pack right away along with the game or will it be a waste until I am a higher level and am sure that I like the game?

when i installed the first one and i put the cd for burning crusade it didnt say anything about instal only in the bottem right corner it said unistall

hey guys i found a world of warcraft wrath of the lich king expansion pack wich is 7 GB and a world of warcraft wrath of the lich king normal without expansion pack wich is 2 Gb whats the difference bettwen them ?
