wrath of the lich king question?

what if i dont get wotlk and i still play wow, what sort of contents will be omitted. can i even play BC without WotLK? o yes, is there a way to download wrath of the lich king from their website for free just like BC (like you have an active WoW account)?

    you need the cd key to dl from the website. and yes you can still play BC without WOTLK. but you just stuck at lvl 70 and cant go to the new places.
