You do not need Lich King untill you get a character to level 55 so that you can make a Death Knight. Also to level to 80. You do need World of Warcraft to then download Lich King. You should by it in this order. 1.World of Warcraft(original)2.-Burning Crusade 3.- Lich King. OR, you can buy a pack that includes all of them though you don't really need Burning Crusade unless you want to make a Dranie or Blood Elf.
