I plan to attend a buisness school, and go to a law school afterwards. The question might sound stupid but is it hard to be a lawyer? I am taking 3APs and will take 4AP next year. I get solid grades, and do well on the SATs. I am wondering if passing the BAR is like a near impossible task, or if it is just like a test that if you get Bs and As will pass?
I would also like some advice for future law students about the workload, studying and grading.
Thank you
…trained and licensed lawyer?
In my story, one of the defendants wants someone to be his "lawyer," but she hasn’t been to law school. Stupid move, I know. I want to know if this is possible in a court of law.
This is in Colorado, if that makes a difference.
I will graduate this time next year (5 years total), and I still don’t know what career I want.
I I’ve always said I wanted my PhD in psychology. But as it turns out, I don’t want to sit there and listen to people’s problems all day (although I DO want to HELP people), and I’ve just discovered I don’t enjoy Research. A PhD in psych, I’m afraid, will stick me into something I don’t enjoy.
My mom says I should be a lawyer (I’m d*mn good at argueing w/ people). I’ve thought about it, but I’ve always thought it would be too hard to memorize all those laws and such. However, I’m trying to look into all career possibilities at the moment (I’m running out of time).
What’s law school like?
Will a 3.5 GPA be good enough to get in?
Is a psych major an appropriate background?
Would it be a wise idea to take more undergrad classes after graduating? (Government, politics, etc?)
THANKS!
I do not think Obama is a very good lawyer. He said the white cops acted stupidly after he said he did not know the details. How stupid can you get? I wonder if he had affirmatve action points given to him when he took his law classes and past his bar exam.
How can this man qualify to teach law? I do not understand it. I can understand him teaching at the community college level but not at Harvard. I feel sorry for anyone who was taught law by him because they may not be qualified either.
Try to think of the stupidest question you can. Did you come up with, "Which is the best law school? Harvard, Yale or Stanford?"
Any serious ranking would not try to rank these three, they would tie them at no. one and then deal with the rest.
Should US News have a purpose in mind?
Best law school for what?
What is the best law school for getting a job as a lawyer in Toledo if you can’t get into one of the three number one schools? ANSWER: U. of Toledo!
What is the best law school to go to for the reason most people go to law school?
Well, don’t you have to know why most people go to law school?
Do they go to impress their friends?
or
Do they hope to get a job?
I have come to respect law and policy since I finished undergrad, but I am pretty sure I do not want to be an actual lawyer where I would have to take depositions, write long legal briefs, etc. Should I still go to law school though? What can a person with a JD do that doesn’t involve being a practicing lawyer? Is there a field of law that doesnt really require taking depositions or writing briefs?
Thank you
Is it easy for a first time homebuyer to buy a house without a realtor? Or is this completely risky and stupid? What kind of problems could occur? And also, how much would this save for a house around 0-300k ? What are typical realtor fees? And do people ever just go without a realtor but then get a lawyer to overlook the paperwork prior to signing? If so, how much does that cost and is it cheaper or more expensive?
by the way – I’m mainly referring to For Sale By Owner places … so the seller would NOT have an agent.
