There are at least two other countries which guarantee the right to bear arms: Switzerland and Israel. Yet neither one has ever seen one of her citizens go on a shooting rampage like we saw in Virginia this week. Why here? Are we as Americans more prone to violence than people from other countries?
Let’s try reading the question, shall we? I’m not talking about terrorism, wars, or individuals held up at gunpoint. I’m talking about some psychopath going into a restaurant, school, dorm, or theatre with a few loaded guns and opening fire. I have never heard of that happening anywhere but here. If you have, please post a link or at least give the basics of the crime.

What factors can make a normal average human to turn into a violent, mass murdering psychopath.
To lose all sympathy and regret what can turn a normal person into a monster? stress? just wondering what make average citizens commit crimes like murder, bank robberys, rape or even hold a prison hostage.

precisely jc–and with that comes responsbility not to kill because you are angry or had a bad hair day–do you know of any father that kills their childen when they misbehavave? Only those that adhere to some abrahamic religion i think you see that. A real father–a real loving father leads by example–you may have probelms with your children–eventually they grow–with a strong example. We all know this is the case–yet you worship this psycopathic story in a way–why is that–are you scared to say that story is a farce–that this is not something a rational loving father would do?

Do we count the innocent unborn that the psychopath drowned as real human beings fetuses? Hmmm in order to mount any sort of defense that the psycho just killed "bad" people that would have to mean the unborn were just lumps of flesh. I have a friend of many years who is engaged to be married to a diagnosed psychopath (he is very open with the fact he is a schizophrenic with APD and talks about his prison time and conquests, I like to not get his attention, but she and him go well together, has anyone here had a successful relationship with a diagnosed psychopath, or should I tell her to head for the hills on this one?

I am aware of the typical traits of the psychopath, but is it common for them to feel warmly towards some one, like a lover or family member? Do you know of any examples of this happening? Thanks.

I’ve heard that most of them are either born with pre frontal cortex damage or that it can happen from a brain injury. Is it possible for the brain to mysteriously change and cause an otherwise normal person to become a sociopath or psychopath?
