Serial Killers

These tragic mass murders we have had in the past 10-15 years have come despite more gun control, background checks, etc. They happen in England and other countries too which totally ban guns. So I don’t think guns are the main problem here.

Fifty or 100 years ago you could buy a gun with no questions asked but there were fewer mass murders like we have today.

So what in our society or culture is precipitating the increase in mass murders? I am asking about incidents like Columbine and VT, not domestic violence or violent crime (I think that might be another issue).

How many mass murders have been committed by men so far this year??

Why then do anti-feminists insist that women can be as violent as men?

Nazi Germany committed genocide to the Jews. How come holocaust was never used to denote the mass murders committed by Japan before and during Second World War? The Japanese have kept and protected the Emperor of Japan from blame from murdering or ordering the Japanese Imperial Army of mass murder in China, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, and Indonesia. They Japanese army used women from these nations as sex slaves. I don’t see monuments in the U.S. of such serious crimes like we have in Washington DC for the Jews during the Second World War. Millions of Chinese, Koreans, Malaysians, Indonesians and Filipinos were brutally murdered, like those millions of Jews.

We have ideas that serial killers have brain damage and come from very abusive homes, etc. But mass murders such as someone going in a building shooting people, killing their whole family, or setting off a bomb in a area full of people for example. This happens more often and happens world wide. What causes them to do this? Is the world becoming a society that encourages this?
Thanks shorty. There is something about killing animals when you are a child. Serial killers usualy started out by killing animals but they don’t kill themselves or kill in public.
Onery and mean I do not excuse killing. Yes, alot of people had a bad childhood and don’t become serial killers. But they are still messed up. I guess some of these people may have been through extreme cause such as being extremly abused as a child or seeing someone killed ect. Anyhow this theory is for serial killers not mass murders.

Not a horror movie – scary, bloody, gross, weird – I mean, a movie where there are lots of murders – one by one or mass murders – with distinctive "bad guys" and "good guys" and the good guys win in the end?

are ther any historical women who were mass murders? suck as jack the ripper or hitler and what not. i mean i always hear about these famous men who killed so many people and were seen as evil. but i dont remember ever hearing about a famous woman who were seen this way or did things such as these men. do you know any women who were like this?

What’s this law that you call, for mass murders like he killed 40 people?

Are we as Americans so well-adjusted to hearing about these mass murders that we overlook the death toll of innocent people, and try to rationalize the killings by assigning some type of reasoning to them?

For example, some say, "the Fort Hood killer was a Muslim terrorist!"

Why can’t he just be some crazy guy who snapped, and we all mourn the victims?

Why are some so quick to blame is hreligion, or his *supposed* motivation (when in reality, we don’t know either)?

How did this shooting turn into a political and/or religious debate?

Aren’t we losing focus here?
