Uncle Joe was an atheist. Sure, he studied for the priesthood in his youth, but was later expelled and renounced his faith. He also murdered millions of people.
Why do atheists ignore these facts, pretending they don’t exist?

Actually, you are the one who needs to think before typing, because your obvious ignorance is quite odious.
While it’s true that Joseph Stalin was an atheist, he didn’t do the things he did because of his atheism. That’s like saying Hitler and Stalin did the things they did because they both sported mustaches.
Undoubtedly, Stalin would have done the things he did whether he was a Christian, atheist, Jew or whatever. Or if he had a mustache, beard or was clean-shaven.

And Stalin was given a religious education. He went to a church school as a child, and attended seminary school as a teenager.

I don’t think anyone ignores it. There are must so many other religious people to focus on that a few evil atheists don’t get a lot of attention. There are evil people in every religious or non-religious group.

the majority of atheist where brought up in religious home in their youth they decide as adults to become atheist.

He murdered people because he was a communist, not because he was an atheist. Atheism has no doctrine or creed. It’s the absence of one. It doesn’t compel you to do anything, that’s what philosophy is for. And Stalin picked a mighty poor philosophy.
No atheist I know wants a forced atheist society. We want a secular society.

the point is not that all atheists are ‘good’ people but that an outrageous amount of people have been influenced from and inspired by religion to murder. horrible atheists are never horrible because of their atheism but in many many cases horrible theists are horrible because they take their religion just a BIT too far.

I think the argument is that people have never KILLED for atheism like people killed in the name of christianity. There have been atheists who have murdered lots of people, but none to my knowledge that have killed people for not being atheist. Although I could be wrong as I am not a history expert. Personally I see the whole christian-atheist debate as idiotic and unproductive, and the militant atheists that go around trying to argue with christians all the time are just as annoying as evangelicals.

dont worry about this arguement. its a dead one and a pointless one. this can go on an on. what is the conclusion? christians have killed. atheists have killed. muslims have, hindus have, shinto have. the conclusion is that man is sinful both chrristian and non christian. we are all capable of the worst no matter what belief or non beliefs you hold true. we desperately need a saviour. i personally believe it to be Jesus Christ.

Still, far more christians have killed in the name of religion, for reasons purely evil, than atheists have killed for whatever reason. Christians kill in the name of the love of their fairy. Atheists do not have this problem. Why do you try to deny the obvious?

Generalisation again, no surprise there.
I actually have no problem admitting that Stalin was an atheist and he was a very vicious and corrupted person indeed. There was no excuse for what he did.
But I will tell you this, he didn’t do it in the name of atheism. Come to think of it, how could any dictator kill people in the name of atheism? It’s not like there is an atheist scripture, telling them to do it for science or anything like that, there is no dogma. So it is quite obvious, that he did it, in the name of corruption of power and that is all it could be.
