Serial Killers

All I hear from FOX and CNN is "this is the BIGGEST mass murder in USA history" time after time after time. Does anyone give a thought to the lunatic fringe who fantasize about such acts are riveted to the waaaaay overdone coverage and dreaming that they might out-do the latest killer and be the subject of such attention?

I mean what is the purpose of such ridiculous over-coverage and breying "the most ever" the worst of all-time".

In novels and in religious debates, the idea of a serial killer who feels they are acting out the will of God is occasionally used to illustrate the dangers of religion. What is one non-fictional serial killer of note who was acted in this manner. A best answer would contain a link to an article of reliability equal to or exceeding Wikipedia.

Note: I don’t want a religious debate, please. I am not saying that such people do not exist, nor that there are or are not problems with religions. I simply require the name of such a serial killer.

Someone else just asked a Q about serial killers, so it sparked my curiosity.. have any of you done research about this? What is the psychology of one? Does something in their brain/thinking slowly warp over time, until they think with only a serial killers thoughts? Do they have varying personalities and sometimes they are normal and other times serial killers? Between serial killers, is there any similarities in background or life experiences before they become serial killers? Does everyone have the possibility of becoming a serial killer, just some never go that way because they have different life experiences?

Also include how many U.S soldier are secretly mass murder every year on the island of awahoo?
