My husband and I just bought our first home and its a fixer upper home. We would like to get money to do somr home improvements (fence & hardwood floors) and buy some debt off (about ,000). What would be a better choice to open a line of equity or refinance? We do know the house has equity. The house was a foreclosure home . We bought the house at 300K and it was appraised at 370K
We are first time homebuyers, all advice is welcomed.
Thanks in advance
My husband & I purchased our condo with two loans from Bank of America: a 5/1 ARM @ 5.25% and a 2nd mortgage @ 6.75%. I would like to refinance our mortgages before the rates adjust. However, the value of our home has decreased over 0K. I have called Bank of America to get a loan modification and the woman I spoke to said we do not qualify. Is anybody else having this problem and how did you get a refinance?
I’ve got fair-to-poor credit & want to refinance my house to (hopefully) get a better interest rate, as well as get some cash out of it to pay off other bills (the ones that are messing my credit up). I’ve got the equity to cover this, but I’m having trouble finding a lender who’s willing to cover me. Any suggestions or advice will be appreciated.
I’m also considering getting a home equity loan/line of credit instead, but having trouble with that as well….
The folks at http://www.autodealerinstitute.com say that they are seeing a lot of career training and re-training inquiries from people who have lost their jobs in the automotive and financial industries. It seems a bit odd to me, as I would think many would not want to stay in the same industry. But I guess Service Advisors and F&I (finance and insurance) professionals must still be in demand. What are your thoughts?
I want to buy another home, move, & then sell my old home. Are there ways to finance the new home using the equity of the old home to secure the loan?
Example: You refinance with 0,000 cash out & house appraises at 0,000. The loan is 0,000. Value of property drops to 0K so you can’t refi; the cash has been spent & now it is going into foreclosure. What will bank do?
I’m looking to do some major rennovations on my house and figuring out the best way to finance it has been racking my brain. I just can’t figure out the pros & cons between refinancing, 2nd mortgages, home equity line of credits, etc.
A little background on the house, It is located in North NJ in a very high demand area. I bought the house over 6 years ago for 5k, it’s currently valued around 0k. Our current Mortgage is around 5k. I estimate my renovation to cost around 0k-0k. We plan to be in this house for a long time. We’re looking to add a 2 car garage, extending the living room, redoing the kitchen and adding a master bedroom.
any advice on what direction I should head in and pifalls to look out for would be greatly appreciated.
I own a 2003 Tahoe & I owe 22500. The blue book through NADA is 18175. Do banks normally require that the value be at least blue book or less? & how long do banks like you to pay with them to refinance (a year or more?)- I’ve been paying for 4 months.
My finance is swearing all the time, & I have a 7 year old boy, & we have a baby on the way. I don’t think it is good for my son to hear these words all the time. Often he uses cuss words in a normal conversation. He also has a short temper & simple things get him to swear & yell. I don’t want to raise kids like this, how do I get him to stop. Isn’t it bad for kids to hear?
