My House was built in 1982 – 1986 not sure exact year do i need to worry about asbestos?
i recently did a little work to my roof and didn’t think about the possibility of asbestos.. was it used in roofing between those years?

I think that asbestos was banned in building products in 1975 but if a contractor had an inventory of asbestos containing products, he could use them up. Your house being 7 to 11 years newer than the ban, no contractor would have leftovers that old to use them when your house was built.

No your ok it was the 70s and 60s, the only asbestos was the backer board they used on wood stoves in the 80s

There were still asbestos-based composition roof shingles then. But not very high-risk, as the asbestos level was fairly low, and surrounded by asphalt

post 1940’s to pre 1970’s are the worries
so between the 40’s and the 70’s are the problem childs
they didn’t use asbestos before the 40’s or after the 70’s understand?
roofing doesn’t count only insulation products, we still use asbestos today in cars breaks – shingles won’t hurt you
