My friend and I were talking about the history of LSD and she told me a story about its history?

but she thought it was LSD, but it wasn’t. My question is can someone tell me what drug it was they discovered? Here’s the story:
These two men worked in an insane asylum and they wanted to experience what the insane were. So they mixed all the pills and had a trip. Anyone know the story, or the drug? Thanks!

in 1938, Albert hofmann first synthesized lsd to see if it could be used as a drug for who knows what! but they knew that it could do stuff to your body, they didnt know what it would do though. so they tried it out on animals and all they noted was that it made them restless, so he put it aside for a while, thinking it was bunk and didn’t do anything.
one day he accidentally spills a little on him, i think it was measured around 20-50 ug’s of it and reported feeling dizzy and seeing colors in his eyes. so he wanted to experiment with it again, so he asked a lab partner to be there with him for his second time, he took 200 ug’s and was tripping nuts! he thought he was going insane, but when the doctor he saw reported that nothing was going wrong with him. so he started enjoying it and word got around…

and tah-dah! thats how lsd was born!

The story is false. LSD was first developed as a veterinary drug. It was accidentally ingested by the developer one day in the 60s I believe, and he enjoyed the trip. Like all drugs, it was perfectly legal at first. Rightfully though, it was made illegal because the side effects include terrifying trips that can occur years after ingesting the drug. Essentially, the story is BS, sorry. If someone ingested a bunch of pills from an insane asylum, they would most likely die.

oh they mixed the wrong pills or something and got like this crazy high so they kept doing it for a while and on of the side affects was muscle spasms so they did to much on day and one of the other employees saw them and thought they caught the crazy and tried electric shock on them and he cranked the voltage up to far and they died.
