My Pair of Zebra FInch is finally make a nest. How long before the hen will start to lay eggs??

Hi,
Zebra finches build nests for two reasons, one is the line the box so it can lay egg, the other reason is they like to roost in boxes too.
This time of year, yours will be building for egg laying, you should see your first egg in about 10 days, maybr a little sooner. Once you see the fist egg, it’s important to remove any unused nesting material. If you leave any in their cages or aviary, they will build another nest on top of the first one. These are called sandwich nests.
