Why is Google suing Microsoft over the Desktop Search?

May 7th, 2010

I don’t understand the basis of the suit, and if it is a problem with having a default desktop search tool, why isn’t google suing Apple over their Spotlight search tool?

Apple’s had spotlight working in THEIR OWN WAY for longer. Microsoft took Google’s idea (which was loosely based in spotlight) and PRODUCT and THEN modeled theirs, hence violating copyrights. Besides, Google (youtube) and Apple and Disney are BFF. Duh.

I DIDNT KNOW THAT BUT I BET
its because microsoft is full of people who copy stuff

desktop search > google desktop(way before vista was even on blueprint)
yahoo widgets> vista gadgets (also way before)
    the dock> (from mac)
yahoo mail beta> the new hotmail(live mail or something)
I think its suing microsoft becuase they dont put out anything original(a matter of respect), apple puts out good and creative stuff
microsoft needs to be a bit more original with its software
(they refused to put some free open source software(in vista) and instead they just keep putting out ****, like paint, outlook express)[they are just after money, they charge for stuff when the open source version is better than theirs]

I am trying to switch to linux to get rid of microsoft for ever in mylife
